This movie: singing makes things worse (or it isn’t living up to the expectation the trailer set, which would be very hollywood…)

This visuals look great, I’m really curious what the worldbuilding is. Is it aliens xenoforming the Earth to their liking using some kind of supertechnology/magic? Hopefully not a cop-out like ‘everyone is living in a simulation’ Matrix-style shenanigans.
