BASE jumpers killed in accident

Thanks to the boingboing community for being welcoming and civil in this forum. If only the rest of the internet was capable of the type of thoughtful debate that I’ve encountered here.

In the days since this incident the press has begun to pay some attention to the obvious discrimination against BASE jumpers that has been occurring in the NPS and especially in Yosemite since the first jumps from El Capitan in 1966.

Lastly, here is a link to a Change.org petition to keep the antiquated NPS law prohibiting poachers from resupplying themselves by parachute in National Parks from being applied to BASE jumpers as has been precedent since 1966. (This was part of the previous post, but as a new user I can not put more than two links into a single post.)
