Saw one of those hiking in MD. We took a picture but otherwise left it alone because we thought it might be rare and didn’t want to endanger it. At home I looked it up, and was glad we did. The sting sounds horrific.

I see those Tarantula Hawks daily. And tarantulas.
We all get along.
And I don’t look like food to them.
