I left New Jersey in Nineteen Hundred & Seventy Six. I got over the NJ border to Penn and became instantly a Westerner, in my eyes that is. The next 5 days road trip to the Pacific sloughed off whatever was left of the East Coast in me permanently.


The process by which one place stops being home and another starts – it’s a mysterious thing.
