Batman theme, but by The Jam is a superior selection. For your viewing pleasure:
Huh. You’d think with so many chicken superheroes flapping around, you’d think it would be part of the general zeitgeist.
He’s Everywhere, He’s Everywhere!!!
(Chicken Man)
OMG - I remember hearing reruns of this!
Ookla the Mok - Super Powers
The best.
Can’t post a link.
Thanks, sir.
Amazing it took this long to get to the Greatest American superhero song of all time! I loved that series when it first aired, and I do think a reboot would work.
That show aired when I was a kid, and I still know the song…
Don’t know about a reboot? Maybe.
I remember it being a radio hit, also. that was a thing the networks seemed to be trying then; the Bosom Buddies theme was all over the radio, too. or, was that an actual Billy Joel song?
[checks]
so the one on the radio was Billy Joel, but
“My Life” was used as the theme song for the ABC television series Bosom Buddies (1980–82), albeit in a re-recorded version with a different vocalist.
so nevermind. but TGAH theme was a radio hit, I was just wrong about pushing themes for airplay. and then Square Pegs was a Waitresses song (of I Know What Boys Like fame) but I don’t think I ever heard it on the radio.
That might also explain why I remember it, if it was on TV, but also playing on the radio, too.
I don’t remember watching Square Pegs, oddly enough. Probably due to my lack of control over the remote…
Same here, I think. I remember being vaguely aware of it, but only saw a teensy bit here or there.
Never too late to start, here’s the Devo episode:
you’d dig it the most. it’s not the most awesome show ever, but it’s real teenagers playing teens, none of this 90210 late-twenties “teens”, and with that funky, gritty early 80s aesthetic, like My Bodyguard and Over the Edge. but in a sitcom. and it’s whatshername, Carrie from Sex And the City as a kid. it’s not got a punk edge, but it’s like a new wave type of edge. the writing isn’t perfect, but hey, the Waitresses!
I was in the 3rd grade I think. you would’ve been really young, right? I seem to recall I’ve got a few years on you…
Totally different head, totally.
like, fer surrrrre
You do I think… I was like kindergarten/first grade ish…
