Biden: I will not pardon Trump

I’m not worried about what the BernieBros think of him, and I certainly don’t care what right-wing tr0lls think of him. I’m worried about liberals like myself and progressives who hear him talking (in 2020) about working in good faith with the Republicans, as if we’re all still living in 1991. He does come off as naive and out-of-touch, which is why he has to say something that a nominee like Sanders or Warren or even Harris or Klobuchar never would have needed to.

I understand that Biden is the Dem nominee. I understand that we have a duopoly system in terms of parties.I understand that the other party’s candidate is a dangerous maniac. That’s why I’ll be holding my nose for Biden in November and encouraging other liberals and progressives to do the same. But it does us no good to ignore Biden’s obvious flaws and shortcomings, just as it did us no good to ignore HRC’s or Kerry’s or … you get the idea. I can only hope he makes more explicit statements like this to show he’s improving and coming to grips with the realities of post-2016 (really post-Gingrich) politics and with the existential problems that this country faces instead of promising to return us to a “normal” that was unsustainable years before the crash of 2008.

I started soaking a half-pound of dry Baby Limas not an hour ago.

Baby Limas: the veal of Lima beans.

De gustibus non disputandum est, baby.

Lima beans, baby, dry, bag

As to Biden: can he be trusted?

This is a world where people who know too much about Trump are taken to state-of-the-art suicide-prevention detention centers where they are apparently staged as suicides under pretense of multiple video camera failure.

Is it excessively suspicious to assume that Biden – and everyone else – is vulnerable to the Wolves?

It would be kind of satisfying to see a post-election investigation and prosecution of Trump by Attorney General Hillary Clinton.

It’s nice to hear him say that, but will he follow through? Or will he repeat Obama’s biggest mistake and say, “We need to look forward…”?

that’s the new USA “Hunger Games” edition, we need to volunteer as tribute to trumpkins

reminds me how GoDaddy was running a commercial with the baddie from Hunger Games (or someone with his voice) saying over and over again “REOPEN… blah blah… REOPEN… blah blah… REOPEN” - I was like wtf

Speaking of unpardonable offences, when I was about four years old my sister, ten years older and worldly, announced to me one day that it was “National Lima Bean Day” . I was required on that day to set aside my dislike of lima beans and eat them, for Canada. Which I did. Still didn’t like them, but it gave me the upper hand in all future disputes. “Oh, is it ‘National Lima Bean Day’ again?”

Wait…Lima Bean Day and 420 together? Decisions, decisions. Might have to consult my bud tender for the proper pairing.

I never associated 4-20 with Lima Beans before.

I doubt Kim Jong-un would want a successful populist politician to reside in his country and potentially upstage him.

Fleets of lawyers? How’s he going to pay for them, given that his debts – to banks in Germany, Russia, and even China – seriously outweigh whatever may be left of the money he inherited from his Dad so many years ago.
He’ll have a tough time finding a public defender willing to take him on, too.
My estimate is he’ll outlast his mockery of a presidency by a year, maybe 18 months, tops.

I do not actually believe Biden on this.

My then boss told me this joke, and she had to have told it way back in the early 90s.

A woman gets on the elevator in a Trump casino and comes face to face with The Donald. ‘Oh, you’re so successful! You’re the alpha male! You’re so impressive! How about I give you a blowjob right here?’ Trump replies, “What’s in it for me?”

So yeah, he was a reputed asshole narcissist as far back as the early 90s.

I was the one in my family who loved Lima beans and would eat them every chance I could. Sadly my dad was (and is) a Lima bean hater so we didn’t have them often.

it’s supposed to be bad when opposing candidates openly plot to put each other in prison if they win

but this is the world we live in, it’s certainly better than pretending no crimes are being committed

He won’t have any difficulty getting lawyers funded by those that want to stoke the fires of the culture wars leading up to the 2024 election. Perhaps not GOOD lawyers, but ones good enough to play the delay game to keep his “persecution” a going concern for a long time.

Last election there was a pretty specific promise to put the rival candidate in prison, brought up at every rally, it was just never followed through on because it was stupid. Meanwhile I like saying that Trump won’t be pardoned, but I would prefer making clear that he would be charged.

When Trump starts having real campaign rallies again I guess they chant “lock him up” about Biden

Rape humor is gauche in all forms, even though nearly all of us agree he deserves punishment worse than death. We just don’t “go there” that way, here.

And I say this with all humility. A while back, I engaged in this gross level of discourse, and many here schooled me on it. I thought about it, realized why it is offensive, realized I was wrong, and I stopped.
