This was my initial thought. If A customer made a request (demand) that asinine, why is that person still a customer? They needed to be evicted ASAP, perhaps with a bit of public shaming in the process.

That’s what prompted me to post it. The show keeps incorporating bits of Black history that I personally know, but only because I actively endeavored to seek it out.
