Black Lives Matter. Still

Everyone knows that Boston is racist as hell, even today:

Pretty much anywhere you got white people, it’s racist as hell. This is and always has been a globalized problem.

Boston’s liberalism is surface and class bound.

I upgraded my social status as a trans woman by moving from Boston to Philly- significantly. We also passed trans non discrimination and health care in Philly before Boston.

Sure is. Boston is probably the only place in the country I’ve ever lived where they care more about how much money your grandpa made than about who you are as a person. It is also where I have heard “I’m not an antisemite, I just don’t trust the Jews” from multiple people, unironically. By far the most classist place I have ever lived, and one of the more racist as well (and this includes Cincinnati). They just think they aren’t racist and classist because they don’t use bad words and aren’t from the South.

By treating racism as equal to bad manners, they are also conveniently ignoring the genteel, well heeled racism that one finds just about everywhere.

Just as a break from the drumbeat of horror that makes up most of this thread:

Just look at that baby 'fro!

Seriously, that’s even more adorable than Baby Yoda trying to “do the magic hand” thing on command.

More of that is definitely needed:

And in Britain, someone tries to donate money to a couple of colleges, specifically for poor white boys because:

Thwaites, who attended both schools on scholarships, specified that the money would exclusively benefit white boys from disadvantaged backgrounds because they perform worse at schools than other ethnic groups.

“Winchester said it would harm its reputation by accepting my bequest, but in my opinion it would gain enormously by being seen to address what is the severe national problem of the underperforming white cohort in schools," Sir Bryan told The Times.

Meanwhile, as the article points out:

Data from 2017 found 13 Oxford University colleges failed to make a single offer to Black A-level applicants over a six-year period. Only three of its 32 colleges made an offer to a Black A-level applicant every year between 2010 to 2015, the figures showed.

Not racist at all, just calling it like it is, right? :imp:
