They really need to raise the awareness of low bridges.

It’s not our friend the 11-foot-8, but it’ll do!

Nice to see a story out of Tonawanda other than North Tonawanda being on fire. :expressionless:

(But not literally see. I forgot I tossed T into hosts blocking.)

I’m familiar with a few similarly low bridges in this general area, but not this particular example.

The 11-foot-8 had an excuse for not being raised (before it was). What’s the excuse for not raising this bridge (or lowering the road below)?

I’m not sure why they haven’t lowered the street, but not raising bridge seems to fall into the same realm as the 11-8 bridge - it’s a railroad bridge. In particular these tracks continue off of this bridge and in less than a couple hundred feet are onto another bridge crossing a waterway.

The nearby river would make it trivial to install a water curtain

Queensland Rail has a new ad campaign about being aware pf low bridges when driving a truck. I saw the ad on Instagram. Lots of trucks getting munched.

Is it just me, or is the clearance sign… a little subtle, perhaps, for the job it’s doing?
