I just noticed that meta.discourse.org is failing to load for me (like BBS was for Purplecat). This is the second time that it has done this, but I think it worked just fine two weeks ago.
Hmm, we canāt reproduce that, and our external monitoring systems that ping meta, bbs, etc every 5 minutes havenāt reported anything either.
I guess it is a problem with my add-ons (probably NoScript and Adblock), but I have no idea what would cause the site to not work for me, work, then not work again.
The bug is still there, same behavior.
Yeah we still havenāt deployed the improved diff code yet here. Sorry about that. Software, always takes longer than you think it will. You can check it out on http://meta.discourse.org though. Look for posts with edit markers in the upper right hand corner (pencil, will be redder if the edit was recent) and tap or click.
http://meta.discourse.org/ works again for me. I donāt think I have done anything differently.
New diff has been deployed for a few days now, have a look and see if you like it better.
When I filter a topic by poster, I thought there used to be something across the bottom saying something like āYou are only viewing posts by ___. Click here to see everything.ā I do not see that anymore. (Firefox or Chrome, Windows 7)
Click or tap the avatar on the left that you already filtered by to see the remove filter button.
Now everything works right and looks quite a lot better. Good job!
I noticed that some spoiler tags I made 4 days ago are no longer spoiler-ing, but they worked both in the preview window and in the final post on Jan 2nd. hereās the comment.

Iām no Sherlock Holmes, but didnāt yāall implement the new topics right around then?
Looks like youāre on a Mac. What browser are you running? I tried latest Safari, Chrome and Firefox and all worked just fine.
firefox. should be latestā¦ yeah, 26. hmm. like i said, it worked fine at the time of my posting from the same machine, so thatās weird.
lemme check the post again.
well, thatās weird, itās working again:
Iām glad I screenshotted the first time, or yāallād think I was bullshitting you.
anyway, I guess itās cool now?
EDIT: @zogstrip I noticed it did it again.
- restarted computer for other reasons.
- open firefox
- browsing BBS
- go to my profile
- see the comment on my feed
- click thru to it
- no spoilers
F5
- spoilers functional
- navigate away
- go back
- spoilers still functional
when I first noticed the bug, I had navigated to the comment via the same route. make of it what you will.
Looked at the front board and saw the following topic listing. Not sure how the number of posts came to be negative twenty but it caught my attention. Also, the first post in that thread is a reply to a post in a different thread, but when I try to expand the replied post it tries loading it, then gives up.
Different computer, different browser. Buttons show up on this one. Endless scrolling/autoload still breaks scrolling and searches. Burn it. Burn it with fire.
What OS and browser version? Scrolling should definitely be working, we test on Safari, Firefox, Chrome, IE, but only recent versions are supported.
(Searching within a topic does need some improvement.)
I had a quick look around the features section of meta.discourse (and if in future I should report these types of thing there, please let me know) but I found a web page which the URL summary fetch (or whatever itās called) feature really weirded out on:
http://olympics.time.com/2012/08/09/olympic-homophobia-why-are-there-so-few-openly-gay-athletes/
Agreed, in fact it was so weird I couldnāt even tell what was going on. Another oneboxer bug, @eviltrout will whip it into shape. In the meantime, just make an URL like this
[like this](http://olympics.time.com/2012/08/09/olympic-homophobia-why-are-there-so-few-openly-gay-athletes/)
And it wonāt onebox. Or put a character in front or behind the URL of any kind, including words, e.g.
http://olympics.time.com/2012/08/09/olympic-homophobia-why-are-there-so-few-openly-gay-athletes/ thatās how.
I seem to be getting loads of locked threads as recommended reading (threads that havenāt been touched in months). Some I thought Iād muted, or at least moved to regular. Now they all say Iām following them. Do I have to work my way through each one to get them off the list?
Can I get rid of them from the list? Is there a way to mark all posts as read?
I hear that bulk action on topics is eventually coming, including untracking all those old posts.
Eventually.
It would be nice if it came faster.
