I’m afraid to ask what those asshole butterflies did to make the turtles cry so much.

I learned this in the 80s from Elvis Costello (“Deep Dark Truthful Mirror” from Spike):
“A butterfly drinks a turtle’s tears, but how do you know he really needs it?”

They should try MAGA tears. Salty and delicious!

I saw some butterflies feasting upon cow dung once. They were out of turtle tears, I guess…

Holden: The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t. Not without your help. But you’re not helping. Instead, you’re drinking its tears, Leon.

Leon: What do you mean, I’m drinking its tears?

Holden: I mean: you’re drinking its tears! Why is that, Leon?

Leon: I guess … I guess I’m a butterfly. Yeah, that’s why. I’m a butterfly.

Holden: Excellent. I see you read Boing Boing. Well, that’s the last question, Leon. Send the next candidate in on your way out, please.
