I’m growing tired. What evidence have you got to disprove that democratic systems run on agreements and alliances that are often not formed on purely ideological grounds? Is politics a career? If yes, what do you think career politicians do all day?

I work with lobbyists and am friends with federal government staffers. They’d love to have the information you claim they must have, but if they have it, they’re all doing a pretty good job of hiding it.
Federal and state politics aren’t the same thing. They’re related, for certain, but watching The Wire and thinking that’s how all US governments at every level operate is a pretty unjustifiable oversimplification.
