This is kina the same line that bugs me with articles saying “we must try to understand where Trump voters are coming from”. Like, that’s fine, but sometimes understanding something means understanding that, yep, it really is fouler than the unwiped inner ring of Satan’s rectum.
I hear you, but winning an election against actual dogshit doesn’t mean you don’t still have it on your shoe. You’re going to have to clean it at some point. Look at it. Smell it. Acknowledge it.
I mean, Trump didn’t come from nowhere , and where he came from ain’t going away.

Being straight up blunt here, I’m starting this topic as a means of venting; if others want to chime in with similar stories, I think that that would be great. But I’m writing this because it’s better than picking up the phone and reopening wounds.
Short version: I’m wondering how many of us have lost friends and good relationships of all kinds because people on any end of the political spectrum find themselves unable to avoid being hyper-sensitive.

I lost a friend because he couldn’t accept my political choices, and made that emphatically clear with vile rhetoric.
