I wore out that red-covered book as a kid. “Explosion in a pizza factory” indeed. If I had gotten to meet Price I would’ve plotzed.
But, witches float (according to Monty Python witch logic)
“Ship arriving too late to save falsely accused witch.”
Wasn’t just ON a FZ album cover, the album was actually named “Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch”.
I was close:
Elephant learning to make olive oil.
Four anteaters reaching for the last cookie
Wedding guests arriving at the outdoor dance floor
Maybe not that last one.
- Unpopular band playing at the second stage at a festival.
- X-Wing about to impact a wall, pilot’s view.
- Elephant angel dancing.
GRUMP!
I received a subscription, when another mag ended its run, closed the doors. A booby prize that soon was a favorite…
and, wow; the cool factor!
A classic doodle by Kurt Vonnegut.
- MMO billiards with first 4 players in the cue queue.
Oh here’s a challenge. List your three in haiku meter.
Pool roulette beneath
pachydermal abrasion
A shotgun? Just mist.
- An elephant stepping on a marble.
- Moonshot
- Overturned box of bees.
portrait of the u.s.a.'s 45th president?
That’s actually an “official” alternate title for #2: “Crisis in the pool hall”.
I’ll take the haiku challenge:
Four swings and misses.
Tightwire marble mammoth act.
Sand outside the box.
Proud member of Droodle Nation here.
And also featured a song of the same name, along with the more well known tune Valley Girl. But this is my favorite track on the album:
I’ve never seen or heard of the book but we used to do these types of drawing as kids.
Aaaand a quick google search turns up one I remember:
Four Klansmen looking down a well.
Should hang in the White House as the official portrait of the 45th president.
Man, I remember these from this mention in the Time Life Book “Our Fabulous Century” in the fad’s section of the 1950’s volume. As I kid I would go though those books and it was the place I learned about things like the 1939 worlds fair.
Also gotta say, scanners can be a real goddamed pain sometimes.
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to scan!
