Can you please stop with Cards Against Humanity

No, I told myself to breath.

I turn it off for sites I spend time onā€¦itā€™s only fair.

Iā€™m saying that you can only dehumanize others and not oneself;

Leigh is EIC of Offworld. If you want an official ā€œbut what about Boing Boingā€ rank it would be ā€œcontributing editorā€ or ā€œlady pirate of the pixel seasā€, not guest blogger.

The general trend toward more newsy coverage of feminism and racism that I think winds certain folks up, though, is found in many of our recent guest bloggers.

I bet a lot of it is headlines. One in particular really knows how to wind up reactionaries with headlines.

No, that is not true. Not even close. Like a million times not even close. That is such a fallacy my mind is boggled.

I think I want that on a business card, no matter how technically inaccurate it may be in my case.

That makes sense. Thanks. I appreciate it (no snark).

Thank you! It just wasnā€™t clear the way you wrote it out. It probably would have made sense had I been able to hear you. Again, I appreciate the clarification. I think weā€™re mostly on the same page.

No snark here either: I have immense respect for you. You have given me solid advice, your observations are spot on and well formed, and I rarely disagree with your conclusions.

(Sometimes though I think one of us should just phone call the other.)

Awww. Except phone calls? People do that? I just use Google Hangouts anymore, it seems, lol.

There was that TOS episodeā€¦

(Sidebar). I was talking to some friends the other day. They sent me a text to look at a fb message they sent me to get on a voice Skype call.

ā€œā€¦but you have my phone number!?ā€

ā€œThis was easier!ā€

Riiiight.

Well, it is easier if you want to have a group chat. I was mostly kidding.

I do wish it were easier to video chat via phone, though, but itā€™s not, is it? That seems a weird thingā€¦ you have to use skype or google hangouts or whatever and you must have data or wifi.

I talk about as fast as I type which is way too fast.

It was the text to fb to Skype for one person that cracked me up. Kids these days.

If I get a Snapchat of a Skype ID I might lose my mind.

Iā€™m wrong about this point. I suppose I donā€™t read Offworld often enough.

Phew, that was a slog.

Thank you for pointing out that CAH is more than crude humor. Iā€™ve only played it a couple times, but even I know better than to think itā€™s just ā€œHUR HUR HUR thatā€™s racist!ā€. Maybe it depends on what set you buy how offensive it is, but I didnā€™t encounter much of that during the games I played, and even if I had, you can easily just make your own cards with whatever you want on them. Itā€™s more about being creative and clever than offensive, and about reading the personalities of your friends and what they find funny. My personal favorite from the game I played was ā€œ________ is a slippery slope that leads to _______ā€, which was turned into ā€œOrganized religion is a slippery slope that leads to The Star Wars Holiday Specialā€.
