Catastrophic Lego engine failure

It’s pretty cool how all the pistons pop out at the same time on the V8 test.

I think it could be a “chain reaction” type scenario where the first piston lets go, which reduces the overall weight and friction so the crank speeds up, making more the other pistons detach ever-faster until they are all gone.

You wouldn’t expect to see something like that on a real motor unless you “buzzed” it by changing down instead of up a gear, and even then the pistons wouldn’t be able to fly out so spectacularly.
