…
Whatever people want to call it, it’s really nifty.
I only want to hear you calling it the Purple Train
Purple Train, Purple Train
Purple Train, Purple Train
Purple Train, Purple Train
It’s not The Tube or Underground
It’s called The Purple Train
OK you’re right, I do need some caffeine.
I was super-excited about this line when it was supposed to open 3 years ago, as I live near Whitechapel station and it will revolutionise my goings to town and especially to Paddington.
But for some reason, the whole subject of taking the tube receded from my consciousness for a couple of years, and I’ve barely thought about it for a long time. I bet when it opens I’ll keep forgetting, and walking to Bethnal Green to take the central line to the West End, like an animal.
The speedometer is in mph.
Oh Look! A country with public transit, and it’s UNDERGROUND…
Whats the UK equivelant of an eagle, firing a gun and waving a flag?
The UK measuring system goes mm - inches - feet - metres - chains - miles.
it will be interesting to see how they intergrated bond street if it’s anything like tottenham court road …that’s it
I would say you could compare it to a german S-Bahn system, which is a heavy rail rapid transit systen that connects the city with the suburbs, and has in many cities an underground section.
What? No cubits?
The cubit has generally been replaced in the Brexit System by the millifurlong, but is still acceptable under the “do whatever the hell you like” clause.
Smoots is the only measure of distance needed. And it’s completely natural.
Bonus: Minneapolis’s first all-female rock band Têtes Noires, Chains, from the 2013 remix of their second album, American Dream (Rapunzel) 1984
But to stay on topic, do they still say “Mind the gap” over there? (indelible memory from my stays in London in the 1990s) And if so will they say it on the Elizabeth Line?
Imperial Cubits or…?
12 trains per hour.
In the sfbay area we’re lucky if transit runs 12 of something per day
Something, something, Mornington Crescent…
You forgot furlongs and leagues.
