Edit: After reading up on him and his style, he’s been referred to as “Hendrix of the Sahara”.
Plus I’m partial to lefty guitarists just like me.
Whatever you think of him, he’s no Eddie Van Halen.
I first came upon Moctar as a recommendation on Tidal and have been hooked since. Really original, interesting, and beautiful music. Highly recommended, especially if you want something likely different from anything you’ve heard before.
I got to see him perform at a screening of Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai and the whole experience was magical as hell. He told the story of his first guitar, homemade, strung with bike cable.
