Yeah. Seattle’s known to have purchased fixed-location Stingray devices. I find it… interesting that they are appealing that the public limit cell phone usage during large events due to the “cell phone network” getting swamped.
Maybe if they weren’t funneling everyone’s calls through their devices, the cell networks might have an easier job managing load.
How do you people confront your local PD if/when you find them involved with stuff like this? Questions? Comments? Ultimata? Counter-surveillance? How much autonomy are you willing to allow them to do their job, and how do make sure that they know it?
