When I see ads boasting that a product will make your toilet bowl as sterile as the surface of the Moon, my reaction is always “why would I want my toilet bowl to be the one place that isn’t covered in bacteria?”
Turns out the answer is “because everyone else has been obsessively sterilising their shitters to the point that they’ve created unkillable super-pathogens”.
Soon the machine will sell us a new generation of “probiotic” cleaning products, which coat your toilet with a kind of aggressive pine-fresh sourdough starter that outcompetes all other life.
