FWIW, I had long seen (state-affiliated, if not operated) Al Jazeera as more legit than RT. I have to admit I couldn’t really tell you why. But, not so much over the past couple of years.
Not sure about Al Jazeera specifically, but I’ve thought this about Qatar in general. A.J.'s articles about Ethiopia (for example) tend to be written by someone with an ax to grind, and ought to have “Editorial” prominently placed somewhere (or, I’ve just missed it).
Not because they’re necessarily incorrect, but due to protocols of law and the possibility it could taint future prosecution, though it’s unclear what that additional prosecution of a foreign controlled company would be.
I’ve lost track – is Concord the foreign- or state-owned corporation that went unnamed for so long, and tried to sue the gov’t to keep it so? (I tried searching the news and just got references to this decision)
You’re right…sort of? You criticized @xeni for “parroting” a CNN article (BTW, they’ve published a lot of their source material now, including surveillance stills of Assange receiving packages from men now identified as Russians). So it wasn’t @stryxvaria you were shitposting about, it was the blog author?
Sweet.
You’re accusing other Happy Mutants of being human!?! How dare you!
Why didn’t he have his clandestine meetings in the men’s bathroom?
BTW, nice false dichotomy there. One can find both 24 hr surveillance and an accused rapist entering women’s restrooms creepy without any need for mental gymnastics.
Concord isn’t state owned, isn’t a bank, and the apellate battle continued after Concord was indicted, so I suspect Concord isn’t the mystery appellant.
So again, just to be clear: we have a story about St. Julian seeming to be at least a Russian stooge, and you want to blame Clinton and the DNC.
Acting as a stooge/cut-out for Russian interests, St. Julian published Podesta’s stolen emails one hour after the Access Hollywood tape is revealed.
Julain Assange’s behavior had a direct and deleterious impact on the lives of millions of Americans. That’s the problem, something that 65M American voters rue to this day.
Al Jazeera is complicated cause there’s essentially 2 Al Jazeeras. The Qatari/Arabic Al Jazeera is state funded. But the Parent company and International aren’t, and aren’t associated or are otherwise insulated from the Qatari government. International is run out of London, and even the Qatari division is partially run from there. Individual national divisions like Al Jazeera America typically come from the International division but are good or bad entirely based on who they hire and who’s running the show. And while International has quite a bit of credibility and penetration in Europe, Asia, and Africa. The US market hasn’t really had much interest, the US division was a failed attempt to change that.
But generally Al Jazeera International run out of London, considered credible. Arabic Al Jazeera run from Doha, less so.
Putin’s chef, or possibly Putin’s chef’s mother owns it. Multitalented family, as they keep somehow getting the lion share of Russian military construction contracts. Presumably experts in building bridges, as they’re also adept at troll farming.
Regardless of how you feel about CNN’s veracity, they’ve seriously published this morning a pile of direct evidence of Assange’s interactions with Russians and hackers while staying as a guest at the Ecuadorian embassy.
If you’re going to ignore that, then you’re rapidly approaching sea lion territory.
It’s been like two years of her repeatedly saying she wasn’t wrong, that Cernovich isn’t a white nationalist just a nationalist who believes that white men are disadvantaged and formed a political career around it.
EDIT
And that’s without bringing up that she is a conspiracy theorist who has deleted several of her own published articles when they are deeply wrong like the one about Seth Rich from a while ago.
Yes, she wrote that and doesn’t deny that she wrote it.
It’s a far cry from “working with” as you put it.
You’re reading posts from people who don’t like her, smear her, and then abandon their article even after it’s been proven wrong. Stop posting out of context information with no link to your source.
Come on, what’s more pertinent, really? It’s childish to say “the best part” concerns the gender-assigned bathroom. Obviously, if you are under surveillance, you’ll try to have private meetings with, say, your lawyer, in places where you are not expected to be.
But do keep on focusing on irrelevant details, it’s an effective method of distraction and character assassination.
