It was suggested that I create a resource thread for parents who are starting the college hunt game. I found a couple of blogs late in the game I wish I’d found earlier.
This one is a good resource for scholarships and general information. I subscribe and receive a good curated list of scholarships once a week. She also has good general advice.
I also very much like this lady, who blogs for a lot of the financial magazines.
She offers a course that teaches how to evaluate the colleges to apply for and I wish I had known about it before we started the college search. We ended up with a good situation for my daughter, but someone like her would have likely eliminated half the colleges from our list and saved us a lot of time and heartache, not to mention money in application fees.
