If you had lived in the Commonwealth Anglosphere you would have become aware of him as as a guest on QI chewing on his pipe; as a team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks also a duet with Rick Wakeman dressed as wizards on a Christmas edition of that show. We also found out on QI that he is a keen lepidoperist.

I was disappointed the BBC didn’t use the Orbital version as the official theme when they brought the show back. All the increasingly bombastic versions they’ve come up with are nowhere near as good.
