If you notice in the photo there is just Delia Derbyshire. Dick Mills admitted that he gave her a broad sketch on paper of what he thought the theme should be, but that she executed it herself. It’s not Jocelyn Bell Burnell bad, but it’s still bad.
I’m looking forward to this:
Subsequent versions of the theme will be covered in the future, and the ways in which they differ will be covered in their individual sections.
(Interesting that “track-by-track analysis” made me think ‘wait - there’s an LP?’)
Do you mean Dick Mills or Ron Granger?
Ooooo, good call! I’ll watch those – thanks!
No wonder I could never play it!
Pro Tip: The Dr. Who theme song makes an excellent ring tone. It’s fast paced (gets your attention), changes frequently (eventually cuts through ambient noise), and is very distinct. I’ve used it for at least 8 years.
My wife’s Gravity Falls ring tone has it beat though. https://youtu.be/Z6usKhzL8uI
yes, sorry
Only drawback with the DW theme is if you happen to come to Sweden or Italy and our roads cross (or I come to wherever you are).
Then some confusion might ensue.
There is: it’s awesome.
