I saw a tweet a bit like that, which said something to the effect that:
Americans love superheroes like superman and batman because they’re fascist rolemodels of strong men saving the world while disregarding the law.

I do wonder why ICE hasn’t deported Superman yet…
Or am I just not up to date, has he been naturalized?
(Not that being naturalized would 100% deter ICE. But then again he doesn’t, you know, look illegal.)

For a good chunk of Superman’s existence I expect the US government didn’t want him flying to the Soviet Union to become Supercomrade.

One could make the argument that there’s never really been a communist country, just varying degrees of fascism/totalitarianism that have wrapped themselves in the label.
When the guy(s) at the top rules like a king, and everyone else lives in fear, it’s no longer communal.

There have been some possibly communist “countries”, they just don’t usually get talked about when people talk about “communist” countries.

Yes, they are Communalists (like me).
More accurately, they adapted Communalism for their own needs under the name of Apoism or Democratic Confederalism (which has nothing to do with the American Democratic Confederalists of the 1860s).
