I get that a railroad strike would crash the economy and hurt everyone.
But real question: why is Biden’s only option to force the unions to accept a deal they don’t like, instead of forcing the railroad companies to accept a deal they don’t like?
Like seriously, not one of the articles I’ve seen even mentions compelling the railroad to accept as an option. What’s up with that?
As I understand it, and I may very well be wrong, Biden has very limited ability to push anything on either the companies or the unions. This is stuff that should go through the Congress.
