Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 1)

Maybe is should be called “coronavirus rally” instead, like coronavirus parties.

I’m sure that the German language has a very descriptive compound word for these people.

Depends on the state. In Ohio, if you request an absentee ballot (aka vote-by-mail), you can’t vote in person except with a provisional ballot “that cannot be counted until at least 11 days after Election Day.”

Police in Berlin announced Saturday that they were cutting short a demonstration against coronavirus restrictions in Germany, saying that protesters had failed to abide by court-ordered guidelines.

An estimated 18,000 protesters had descended on Berlin for the demonstration on Saturday morning, according to police estimates, a day after a court overturned the capital’s ban on the protest.

“Unfortunately, we have no other option,” Berlin police wrote on Twitter. “We’ve approached the leader of the demonstration and informed him that his assembly will be dissolved by the police. All the measures taken so far have not led to compliance with the conditions.”

Last night I saw one of the Hugs Over Masks “advocates” on video exclaim to the camera how much he detested stupid people as they finished with a disinformation ambush on a store security guard. I think “Arschloch” (shithead) is more appropriate.

Seconded.
Also, literally: arseholes.

How the University of Arizona used No. 2 to solve its No. 1 problem: The coronavirus

Cretins (the journalists).

They are mitigating a problem they created with their avarice.

I think I first encountered the word “Arschloch” in Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes. The subtitles didn’t translate it, but it was pretty easy to figure out,

Speaking Of Cancel Culture

Wow I bet the usual suspects are OUTRAGED by this!!!

Administration officials at the University of Alabama reportedly have ordered the school’s professors to keep quiet about the coronavirus amid an outbreak that infected more than 500 students during the first week of classes.

Faculty in multiple departments said they received emails this week telling them not to discuss the situation in classrooms and to keep students in the dark if they became aware of anyone contracting the virus, according to an exclusive report by The Daily Beast.

It is outrageous, actually, but the usual suspects only see FREE SPEECH and CANCEL CULTURE when the ability of powerful people to get paid large sums of money to do racisms without criticism is threatened.

It probably bears mentioning that if this updating of miasma theory gets traction, then it will be boom times for scientists who study aerosols. Like the author.

Nothing you wouldn’t know if you weren’t paying attention these past six months:

Ron DeSantis sidelined his health department. Florida paid the price.

Just got back from a delightful paddle around the “basin” here in town. On the way I saw a lovely garden of sunflowers and thought, “oh, these must be lovely people.” Then I noticed a series of hand-painted signs hung between the trees. Things like, “Fuck you, governor, take your mask and shove it up your ass.” The funniest was about how if you have young kids wearing masks they’re going to end up with “Yoda ears.” Is that really a talking point now???
I didn’t have my phone, but will take a pic if I go back over there.
This wasn’t exactly a dead-end Street, but definitely a very low traffic situation…who is the message for?

Parents should be “reassured” Covid-19 has not caused the deaths of any otherwise healthy schoolchildren in the UK, researchers say.

It’s not “reassuring”, because it’s not the fucking problem, you worse than useless shits.

Also, if your child isn’t “otherwise healthy”, whatever that means, then a big “fuck you” from the BBC staff.
