But kids are immune.
This was one of the first things in my area to be canceled. The places hosting did not want the risk of people without masks singing indoors. On top of that recipe for disaster, the folks who manage the events and provide the equipment couldânt figure out a safe way for multiple people to use their microphones.
Due to issues with the audio, karaoke doesnât work well online using popular videoconferencing sites. So, Iâll keep practicing on my captive audience until the pandemic is over.
One of my local theaters has re-opened with two musicals back to back. The first one even had a special audience sing-along matinee!
ETA: I just checked their website. Their next show after the two musicals revolves around a funeral.
Ugh. Youâre making me wonder if that was a factor in those churches with outbreaks that held in-person services. Usually everybody is singing along with the choir. Sometimes the choir walks around the congregation while they are singing - multiple times during the course of a service. This is also a factor in services that last 3-4 hours.
ETA: outbreaks
I was torn between here or the 2020 nightmare thread.
Theres also been a spread in the lone star tick which can make you allergic to meat. Would this mean that if you have been bitten my the tick, then get COVID, you become allergic to coffee?
So, now youâre managing to work in losing both steak and coffee, get thee behind me satanâŚ
While I strenuously oppose opening colleges, it would provide an opportunity to improve future collegiate life by permanently banning fraternities.
Not all frats and sororities are made up of clueless partiers:
In the Black community they promote activism and community service.
Banning them all because of some selfish, stupid assholes isnât a good solution.
Statistics waiting to happenâŚ
I heard the predictions of 400k deaths by January 2021 and at first thought nawwww. That doesnât wash with the current rates. Then, after seeing more of this⌠Yup. 400k is not far off.
So much for getting any sleep tonight ever again.

Among those who do not stay at home, a third have symptoms. Only a quarter of those who do not have symptoms follow the quarantine rules.
The survey shows that those who most often break the rules are those who are over 50 years old. 76 percent of those between the ages of 50 and 69 have broken the rules at least once.
Going out in public when you know you are a carrier should have the same kind of consequences as going out in public randomly shooting a gun. I donât care if you are a college student or a pensioner.
Active local Covid cases still = zero.
OTOHâŚ
The Tas economy is rather marginal at the best of times, and is heavily reliant on tourism.
Massive live fire testing is one way to get to market quickly. Or a zombie plague. Either way.
