Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 1)

I’m more interested in the numbers from the Senate and SCOTUS nominee.

I have to disagree with him that it doesn’t seem like Trump. It sounds like Trump doubling down.

Trump is looking at the polls and saying “You guys aren’t supporting me, I am not paying you until you support me. Since I can’t know until the votes are counted, we’ll wait on the win before we pay you.”

Is there anything more Trump? Well, besides not paying after he gets what he wanted.

If you’re looking for the perfect intersection of a bunch of flavors of toxicity, here you go:

A high school football game in Idaho was stopped at halftime when anti-government activist Ammon Bundy refused to wear a mask or leave campus, officials said Monday.

Bundy wanted to watch his son, a linebacker for the visiting Emmett High School Huskies, in their game against the host Caldwell Cougars on Friday.

The dad was turned away at the gate for refusing to adhere to Caldwell’s coronavirus masking policy, Bundy and school officials both said.

More champions for the herd immunity “let’s infect everyone, except the people who might be harmed by it, whoever they might be” garbage. I wonder why anyone $$ might think $$$ that’s a $ sane $$$$ idea.

Scott fucking Atlas, I might have known!

Unfortunately I wont be making a Finland beer run this year (thanks COVID).

At Christmas the brewery Plevna in Tampere releases their Siperia stout in bottles. I’ve had a hankering for it all year.

People who think herd immunity will kick in and this will be over by next summer, I guess.

edit:

…or in case by next summer people who voiced that stance are hiding from the survivors.

This is basically the same approach as was used to spread FUD about climate science. The same self-selected “experts against consensus” the same “cure is worse than the disease” line, the same ultimate aim of protecting short term profit rather than human lives…

The “think-tank” behind it is American Institute for Economic Research.

Well call me shocked! It’s part of the Koch Atlas Network.
