Though if he infected anyone at the Tulsa rally one could argue they kind of had it coming too.
As an aside: did they make all the black people at the Tulsa rally sit together? Because I’m pretty darn sure this wasn’t a representative image of the “crowd” there.
I wish Cain weren’t such a Tea Party asshole (and media clown, and possible sexual harasser), from what I know of his life story it is fairly impressive.
Don’t know if you’ve ever been there, but the Texas Medical Center in Houston is the size of a city. It’s got something like 50 (FIFTY!) hospitals in it: MD Anderson, Rice, Baylor, etc. It’s a phenomenal complex, and if they’re over 100% capacity, Texas is screwed.
We’re about the same distance from the city, we live in Pflugerville. The majority of people in our city seem to wear masks. Though I’ve seen more compliance at target than home depot. Those two stores are the only businesses I’ve been to in 2 months. My husband had to stop going to the HEB in Hutto because apparently things were way different across the county line.
Williamson county refused to mandate masks, so all the cities there did as of a week ago. Hutto, round rock, leander, georgegown.
I hope abbot does enforce it. He said officers can. I kind of want to see a protest about it at the capitol. Every protest lately, even the ridiculous bar owner one, they’ve stuffed the capitol with DPS troopers. Easily a hundred. Let them have a protest and have the DPS troopers give each and every one a citation.
I don’t think he has to worry about assault rifles in the capitol or at the mansion. All guns except handguns are prohibited on capitol grounds. DPS has enforced it before and now they have national guard there too.
But who could foresee this happening? I mean, other than absolutely anyone who was paying attention, of course. Already bizarre things are running out. We can’t get covers for our thermometers. I mean, seriously? And of course, as numbers go up, we burn through what supplies we have more quickly. Insanity.
I’ve been there several times, and it’s so intermeshed with the colleges and universities, I don’t know how that will work in the fall if/when students return to campus and there’s still a lot of cases. I wonder how the researchers are dealing with it, as places like MD Anderson do medical research 365 days a year, and I’m sure that was considered essential. What are they going to say, ongoing cancer research isn’t essential? But if you share parking lots and cafeterias and tunnels/walkways with the hospital, how do you steer clear of COVID exposure?
As I’ve said, Dan Rather was never a leftie. So, if he sounds like one, now… well, that should tell you everything you need to know about today’s political environment.
Who would think that anyone who’s spent decades getting rich on corporate media as a well-known public “news” figure would be a leftie? (I mean, who among informed people who don’t bleat away about The Librul Media?)
