Just like in NYC. Weāve been here before and learned nothing. The true death toll wonāt be clear for some time, until the actual excess death rate can be calculated. And then there will be the arguments over how many were deaths from other causes that were afraid to go to the ED due to Covid, vs Covid deaths that never made it to the ED, vs folks who could not afford to go to the ED. Yes, it is a clusterfuck, but it is a clusterfuck we knew would come, we knew how to avoid because weāve seen it before, and actively chose not to do anything about it. We are fucked.
