I have no explanation for that!

I like the Doc Brown, but I bet it is a glitch of either Discourse oneboxing or some weird shit on their website. Maybe SEO. @codinghorror might be able to have a look if it has to do with Discourse. [Narrator: when Jeff received the message, he shook his head in sadness and rebooted the Flux compensators.]

Is it a European / US date format confusion? It could be picking up 08/07/20 as 07/08/20

A European/American date confusion seems to be a good explanation!

Do I have to add that my friend didnā€™t date any American?

So she may not be late after all?

They only said not to take any wooden nickels.

Most likely.

I had to redo part of my mortgage refi (soooo many signatures) because I was using ā€œprogrammer timeā€ (YYYY/MM/DD), which was unacceptable.

In order to issue and enforce executive orders related to Covid-19, Privett wrote that the governor must first ā€œspecifically state the emergency that requires the order, the location of the emergency, and the name of the local emergency management agency that has determined that the emergency is beyond its capabilities.ā€

Thereā€™s a time and a place to cosplay the EMH from Voyager, but not when you have actual power over actual lives. Scott County Circuit Judge Brian Privett is an irresponsible ass who will have blood on his hands unless his ruling is overturned.

So far, we donā€™t really have data showing that children are major carriers of the virus. Is this the same as, ā€œThere is data showing that children are NOT major carriers of the virusā€? No, but ā€” the fact that so many people canā€™t tell the difference just shows why being back at school is so crucial!

So will there be testing? Of course there will be! Itā€™s a school! Probably there will also be essays and pop quizzes!

Holy shit.

This tells us that the death toll must be higher than currently reported, because people are already dying at home, and not in hospital.

And Arizona is fucked.

Around 7 million inhabitants in that state.

Did I say holy shit? Holy shit.

Just like in NYC. Weā€™ve been here before and learned nothing. The true death toll wonā€™t be clear for some time, until the actual excess death rate can be calculated. And then there will be the arguments over how many were deaths from other causes that were afraid to go to the ED due to Covid, vs Covid deaths that never made it to the ED, vs folks who could not afford to go to the ED. Yes, it is a clusterfuck, but it is a clusterfuck we knew would come, we knew how to avoid because weā€™ve seen it before, and actively chose not to do anything about it. We are fucked.
