IANAL, but the 5th district only has jurisdiction over Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. There are other challenges coming in other districts, but so far those are the only states that are impacted (or will be impacted once the vax mandate goes into effect in January).

OTOH, the SC is a steaming pile, so chances are that this gets worse.

I’m glad the other scientists stood up for their colleagues but wonder how those two were ever permitted on the list at all

He gave out those medals in one day, the next day he revoked the decree.

Many people commented on social networks that he gave a medal to himself (which is not quite true, the law says that every president receives this medal automatically) and to some scientists who were attacked by his acolytes. These people laughed at him, saying that most likely he signs the documents without reading.

If people hadn’t been making such an outrageous debauchery on social media, the president probably wouldn’t even have noticed that he paid tribute to scientists who fought his ideas.

Ahh. That makes sense. He might have not even recognized the names until the

was brought to his attention
Great turn of phrase, btw.

The names on the list are chosen by a committee of 9 members: 3 people chosen by the government and 6 scientists nominated by their peers. I think that’s the only way to honor scientists who defend vaccines and were against miracle remedies.

You’ll never guess who’s upset about that.

IIRC, the Republicans hate Sesame Street anyway. Teaches kids all kinds of funny things about acceptance, friendship, cooperation and other suspiciously communist-sounding un-American stuff!
