Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 3)

I think the term of art was “anal leakage.” Can’t understand why it wasn’t a big success…

Well, here’s the answer to at least one “when do we need boosters” question.

Not really any surprises. They work great for source control, wearer protection is best in non-virus-rich environments. (Which would mean that ventilation to prevent build-up is very important.)

Aaaand the Covidiots will ignore this one too.

that’s a misleading headline for sure. it says “vaccinated or not” but in fact the article says none of the crew was vaccinated yet.

for some reason they were waiting till they got to the us to get the vaccinations. ( which on reflection, makes no sense. the j&j one dose and then wait two weeks before taking on passengers? why not get the shots before they set sail and use the travel time as the necessary waiting period. something doesn’t track well in the company’s story. )

This is unquestionably good news, but the problem is that next 23-30% that it will take to get to herd immunity, which is looking like a bridge too far, sadly.

Oh, don’t worry, at my meeting yesterday we were all confidently informed that herd immunity in the U.S. will happen by July.

Yes, I pushed back at that one. Didn’t convince that person, or a couple of others, but there had to be at least a few people there who were glad to hear someone respond with logic to that nonsense.

Wasn’t the “vaccinated or not” referring to the passengers, or the lack of them?

Background- Boris previously said that there will be no further lockdowns as the last one was being lifted, so now, as the India variant is spreading in a number of communities, the government are trying themselves in knots to keep to this rash promise, and are issuing vague and contradictory advice.
