I must say, I liked the music better than the animation.
Um… maybe mid to late 90s or early 00s vibe honestly. 80s techno sounded nothing like that at all to say nothing of the CGI or animation style.
Also very unclear what gives this an “Asian” (India? Thailand? Vietnam? Japan?) vibe.
I hear the beats of ‘French Kiss’ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y8w2W1uy2A), which is from 1989, but that’s as far as I will go with the 80s vibe.

Yes very much so.
To me its secondary at best.
