Exactly. I’m entirely confident I could have had her walk out of that classroom under her own steam in a half hour at most. Take everyone else out of the equation, let the adrenaline wear off of her and do some talking, and boom. Sorted.
Hey, please don’t encourage self-censorship, man.
You’ll never change this world for the better if other people don’t let you know what they are thinking. You have to know where they are coming from before you can show them a better way to get where they want to go…

It appears that’s been handled.
My eyeballs are filthy now. How do I unread this.
Sweet Zombie Jebus! If I called in the cops every time a student didn’t put away their phone, I’d have exactly 2 students left in all of my classes.
an excellent student-to-teacher ratio. you should do it
Nope. The cop’s job is to enforce the law. Police officers aren’t officially hired muscle. They’re officers of the law. If there are no laws being broken, then what they should do is say “see ya later” and go away.
Your idea of a cop is basically indistinguishable from a mercenary. The official idea of a cop is quite different, and the current public distaste for police intervention has been bred by cops deciding to use their authority for reasons other than law enforcement.
