Cops responding to burglary call confronted by complete animal

These cops responded with more patience and humanity towards a disorderly and uncooperative deer than they would toward a human being acting the same.

What does it mean that cops have less empathy for a “perp” than they do for an animal that people regularly kill and eat?

Cops actually responding to a break in call? This must be the wealthy suburbs!

Well, it’s not black is it?

Also, what sort of nightmare stuff would it have been if the deer had complied with orders:

Looks like it was some sort of office block, judging from the whiteboard in the corner of the room.

There truly are no situations that police can’t make worse.

They would have shot a burro.

Oh, I’m almost certain the insurance company will find some way to weasel out of paying the claim.

A single officer might’ve dealt with that better. A group-police-brain appears to believe that surrounding and yelling at an obviously distressed creature is the best way to calm it down.

I have to say that, as a Brit, I was impressed that the police turned up at all. After years of underfunding and stretched resources if you’re being burgled in the UK and phone the police there’s only a 50% chance they’ll turn up and if they do it’ll be some hours after the event.

It seems the cops’ hopes of catching crims in the act fell fallow.
You might even say they were hind-ered.
Still, at least none of them saw red and shot it.
And they did eventually manage to hoof the deer out of the place.
