I love that shirtless guy.
City pop is a very specific genre of Japanese music from the 80s. It had a massive resurgence a few years back on the back of the YouTube algorithm recommending this video (ok, a copy of it, the original got taken down a bazillion times) to a lot of people who’d heard nothing like it before:
A radio show about old (and not so old) and traditional (and sometimes unusual) brazilian music. The creator of this show is trying to gather as much information about brazilian music. There are a lot of cool gems, some of which I´ve never heard before or just read about in old books and specialized magazines.
Yes! I liked the funky bass and the vocals! It has an 80´s anime feel. Thanks for the info!
I just listened to the first one; a lot funkier than I expected, especially during the guitar solo. I loved the guitar solo.
Man, those pants…
That was interesting. The music gave me a real North Korea vibe. I could see the Moranbong Band playing something similar.
Those are amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Portishead is easily one of my all-time favorite bands… I hate how long they take between albums, but it’s always worth the wait. Each album is solid from start to finish…
I have the first two albums. I have “Dummy” on tape! After those two I didn’t keep up with them so I’m always pleasantly surprised to come across “newer” stuff.
It was one of the first cds I bought… I still have that copy, in fact…
Third is really great. There is a live album, too. But still no new album since Third.
ETA: Also… are they coming out with an ABBA cover album, cause I’d listen to that back to back with Erasure’s for the rest of my natural life (and on into the lands beyond, too)…
Awesome.
Glad too that the rabbit stayed out of the way!
I think it was digitally inserted… I doubt a rabbit on that table would have stuck around with all that racket…
ya no doubt
