I was going through my music library while I was offline, and found that this one still has the power to make me weep openly…
I like that venue. Got free back row seats for Marcel Marceau aeons ago and it was still a good view.
My biggest gripe is the legroom on the balcony is terrible but the views aren’t bad, especially if you’re close to the front. I saw Max Richter there earlier this last year from almost the same location so the uncomfortable seats are still seared into my memory. (I also saw Pet Shop Boys there in 2009 but I was much further back.) But I’m still really excited to go.
TMBG with Cub. Penn And Teller. And MST3K live! Oh and Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me!
I was listening to Yaz today! I always loved Mr. Blue and Winter Kills… Also, Vince Clarke is an underrated musician… between early DM, Yazoo, and Erasure, he’s proven himself to be a master of the genre. The eponymous Erasure albums is in my top 10 albums of all times…
I love this version so much.
Would you like some awesome electronic 80s-inspired power ballad with an epic furry cyberpunk music video to start off the weekend?
Of course you do.
This was animated by the same studio that did the music video for Starlight Brigade, which I also posted last year. Same singer, too, but a different band collaboration.
Thanks for the memories!
Pizzicato Five was so much fun.
Declan’s still at it!
David Byrne was great on SNL last night…
The Hall & Oates thread sent me wandering through ‘80’s music Youtube, which brought me back to this:
I always enjoyed the Pixies’ zero-budget approach to music videos and their total contempt for the conventions of the genre.
(I’m probably failing under the inital rules of the game.)
Because Nick Cave, and the YT comment “I showed this video to my baby-nephew. He now has a 3-meter beard…”
I’m calling it a night.
