One story from the making of Hatari! that I found interesting is that KrĂźger who had attended an âAdolf Hitler Schoolâ, an elite nazi boarding school in a castle like some fucking comic book villain was aghast at how right-wing John Wayne was.

Yes, later in life he became an outspoken advocate against extremism:
KrĂźger came to despise the Nazis when he was still a 16-year-old soldier, a brave split from his background.
Also interesting is that the filming location for Hatari! was where KrĂźger lived, a farm in Tanzania he had owned for a couple of years.
