If I’m not mistaken, “Emahoy” is a title, not a name but I guess in that context it works either way, e.g. “Sister”

P.S. I wondered if the way she trilled(?) the notes was meant to emulate the sound of a krar (lyre).

Can’t speak to that, but I used to work with Ethiopians and trilling was a part of the singing.
