The whole movie’s worthwhile.
The Walking Dead actor Scott Wilson dies aged 76 - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-45776409
Or I like to think of him as Scott Crossfield in The Right Stuff.
His supporting role in the 70’s The Great Gatsby was haunting, too.
(Not to mention, In Cold Blood.)
All in all, he had been a very busy actor since the late 60’s.
He will be missed.
I have dreading this day happening for nearly two years.
Paul Allen…
Fuck Cancer.
I knew he’d been in poor health, but I just heard about this (someone was paying tribute on the radio). A show I saw 10 or 12 years ago – with just Bluiett and percussionist Kahil El’Zabar, no amplification – was one of the loudest shows I’ve attended. Might not be saying much, as I never went to e.g. a Motörhead concert, but still…
Here’s a video from Jan. 2016:
That video would’ve been from about a month before I saw him for the 2nd and last time, again with Kahil El’Zabar, and (IIRC) not long before Bohemian Caverns closed its doors:
ETA: Just remembered I had these from that show:
Just came to post this… fuck cancer, indeed.

“The only time I ever believed that I knew all there was to know about beekeeping was the first year I was keeping them. Every year since I’ve known less and less and have accepted the humbling truth that bees know more about making honey than I do.”
― Sue Hubbell, A Book of Bees: And How to Keep Them
He was one of the rare billionaire football club owners who came across as a good person. Real shame.
Helicopters terrify me, perhaps for a good reason. English football seems to be having a really rough year. Sorry to hear of more tragedy.
Saturday was a very bad day, with Glenn Hoddle having a nearly fatal heart attack as well. Somehow Gary Lineker (Hoddle’s England teammate and a Leicester City supporter) managed to present Match of the Day, although he was clearly shaken by the days events.
I grew up reading Asterix comics. A huge amount of the humor is word play; I can’t even imagine the challenges involved in translating it.
“The details of his death have not been announced, but a local union official for correctional workers at the prison told CBS that a “homicide” occurred on Tuesday morning”
So natural causes then.
I guess the Irish mob ain’t what it used to be. According to all the prison shows and movies I’ve seen, guys like that are “protected”. Of course it’s possible real life isn’t like TV.
Edit: I was reminded he ratted his mob buddies. Whoops, that makes all the difference don’t it?
