Beg to disagree. Adjusted for population the rate of gun homicides in the U.S. is many times higher than that of culturally comparable nations. Look at the stats for “mass shootings” and we’re even more of an anomaly.
This graphic shows countries by firearm-related death rate. You’ll note that the only countries with circles as large or larger than the United States (near top left) are ones currently ravaged by civil war, collapsed governments, crushing poverty and out-of-control crime syndicates. We’re barely behind Mexico, where the drug cartels are powerful enough to control national elections and break the country’s most infamous criminal out of Supermax prison.
