I flipped through the Grumpy Cat book last night at whatever craft store I was at.

Makes one wonder why Amazon and Barns & Noble don’t sponsor libraries under the idea of ‘you liked that book? you can buy it now at-’.

Actually the Toronto Public Library does just that, with a “Buy Now, and support your public library” link.

I’d be interested to know if they’re having any impact on the arts—if they’re serving as gateway drugs that lead people down the slippery slope to art lessons, or if they’re just a symptom of how anxious and neurotic we’ve become.

Only one way to test that: promote the Anti-Coloring Book series with advertising and discounts. If that doesn’t sell, then your latter hypothesis deserves more attention.
