Deepfaked DeNiro looks more convincing than The Irishman's award-winning CGI

The whole movie moved about like an old man. Goodfellas it was not. But the anti-aging techniques were totally distracting. The deepfake seems more lifelike to me.

For me the way the lighting and contrast was softened on the DeepFake2.0 detracted from the whole scene in the frame.

Never really noticed the original on first viewing, sucked up in the story. Not even a case of suspension of disbelief.

Scorsese’s Casino was similar… first use of raytraced global illumination to recreate Vegas from anything in the scene above the canopy height on the streets. Watched the film many times and the look never felt that this was compositing and post production.
