Did a pro cyclist hide a motor inside her bike?

In the world full of people with no clue about nuclear physics, how can I differentiate between joke and stupidity?

There are people who actually believe that xray and lower-energy gamma induces radiation. See the screams about radiation-sterilized food, for example.

Modified Poe’s law applies here.

That’s a bit tired, considering civilisation advances with each radically new form of argument.

You say tired. I say classic.

My shiny unpainted steel bike is not magnetic at all. It surprised me too.
Strange alloys…

By chance, isn’t it an austenitic stainless steel, most likely the 304 kind? These tend to be both steel and nonmagnetic, and not require paint coating for corrosion protection.

Yes, maybe.
I (wishfully) thought 316 maybe, with molybdenum.
I think this 911 S is.
I’ve found no markings on it. Not even the manufacturer. When I found the bike, all it’s aluminum parts were dark, rotten and deeply pitted. Brittle. The frame was shiny with streaks of red that had washed over it from less stainless parts, that would rub right off.
I like how very skinny it looks among modern bikes. And shiny.

That kind of language sounds really suspicious.
