Did you ever want to play questions?

Since when do printers respect anyone’s nerd cred? Aren’t most printers evil?

Are you saying that some aren’t? Do you have any evidence for such an extraordinary claim?

Are they still at it?

Isn’t it nice to see that Cliven Bundy got arrested, too?

Didn’t I know a Laserjet, back in the 20th century when they built them solid, that wasn’t completely evil? Though didn’t it know you when you were on a deadline?

Can I say that they are? Isn’t several years of supporting the servers for all the shared printers in the region enough personal evidence to make that judgement? And can I say that there some printers that are more evil than others?

Have you seen this?

(read for more than the embedded panel; and NO I didn’t mistake this for the HYST thread.)

How did you find such an awesome in so many ways comic?

Isn’t it a long strange trip that someboy that my wife used to know that I somehow became friends with on Facebook shared it and The Facebook Algorithm (may its mysteries be praised!) decided to show it to me?

Doesn’t it all come back to the Telepathic Critical Need Detector circuit that Epson invented way back in the late 1970’s? Hasn’t that been improved into uselessness in the ensuing years?

Isn’t this a lovely image to start the day with?

Is it a pity you already told how you found this gem, so I can’t ask?

While some are more evil, aren’t they all still evil? Doesn’t that printer smashing scene from Office Space still bring deep catharsis?

aside: Should I feel guilty for buying cheaper home/small office laser printers (that still come with a full toner cart), then donating them when then toner runs out and just buying another one since it’s barely more than the toner?

Shouldn’t you feel guilty for donating a POS instead of recycling it?

Maybe? What if it was a working 2400 DPI laser printer with Ethernet and 802.11 that never jammed and had plenty of life in the fuser, but just needed toner? Why do they charge almost as much for the toner as the printer and force me to do this? Do I need more guilt?

Because the printer is a loss-leader, and the real money is in the toner?

Seriously, would you donate Christine to a charity shop, or would you have her ground up properly at a metal-recycler to keep her from infecting others with her V8-powered doom?

Why am I remembering a month long fiasco where the copier / printer (we’ll call them company X) guys were pointing at the print server manufacturer (we’ll call them company E) while the print server folks were blaming X, and neither group would acknowledge the packet traces and other documentation I supplied them with? <twitch_twitch_sputter…/>

Would you believe when the company finally got around to replacing the aging hp5 workhorses they with a company who I leave unnamed, but it only took 6 iterations of the print drivers not working for them to punt and find a new vendor in the middle of the project?
Would you believe 2 versions were kernel mode drivers which caused the servers to crash?

Doesn’t she look excited about getting the campaign started?
