Do not sit on these spiky standpipes

That’s an obvious strawman that ignores other types of pipes and vents that might suffer from damage or airflow issues, other uses besides firefighting, the need to perform maintenance, etc. Though, as I said, simply posting a sign or asking people to move would be a lot nicer solution. Covering things in spikes is the lazy, sociopathic solution.

I would imagine the firefighters would simply push the lollygaggers aside in a similar manner to how they treat cars parked in front of hydrants. Or, maybe the people notice the city on fire and decide to move.

Plus, what will we do when the homeless become spike-resistent?
