Do you love your boots? Why or why not? (Other footwear too.)

Even new, modern synthetic boots are a gamble. I had a pair of soles on supposed “hiking” boots [1] disintegrate after a week of work.

[1] New Balance brand. Cheap but shit.

These probably weren’t even cheap. I didn’t get a picture of them, but they looked like a good German brand.

Apparently this is a problem with polyurethane midsoles, and it’s particularly bad if the shoes aren’t used.

Age like fine wine. If you mean they turn into vinegar.

Really thick, waterproof, invulnerable boots.

Mine didn’t wear out, I threw them away after 20 or 30 years because they got moldy.

Modern lightweight boots are better.
