Joking aside, no other major religion relies so heavy on centralized rule. If you don’t believe the pope is Jesus’ representation on earth and on matters of doctrine speaks for him then You Are Not Catholic! Simple as that.
There is no way to argue around this, following doctrine without understanding it is the whole #$%^&&^%$ point in Catholicism. “Seek not to understand that you may believe…” - That was Saint Augustine himself.
