“cannot be bought any other way.”

So you are saying Apple does not have a parts department? People who have one out of warranty that dies are forced to buy an entire new system and cannot order a matching replacement keyboard? Really?

Apple will only sell “parts” to an authorized service center, which more and more lately is only an Apple store. The Apple Store will not sell parts to anybody, only do repairs.

More and more lately, an Apple Store sends the whole thing off to a service center.

Most likely, if you had a bad iMac Pro keyboard, you’d take it to a store, they send it in, they get back a fixed thing, and you pick it up a few days later.

You would not be able to buy the part yourself, nor would the store.

Thanks for clarifying why I don’t generally buy Mac products and indeed for the information.

I think that if your grammar enjoys a good argument, you shouldn’t deny the old broad the pleasure.
